Socks Under Desk 2

Hey guys, remember my "Sweaty Ankle Socks" vid? Well, I realised that even though I was wearing those socks almost non-stop, they weren't getting rank enough.

So... I started wearing them a bit differently: by wearing two socks on each foot, before putting a zipper storage bag on each foot and then wearing my worst-smelling Vans over them.

Believe me, it worked, both pairs absolutely reek. I filmed a short video showing them off again but from another angle. Enjoy!

I'm still open to suggestions for videos for a few weeks; you can e-mail me at restwalk@hotmail.co.uk, leave a comment on this post or message restwalker on YouTube

A Gay Manifesto

The fear of coming out is not paranoia. The stakes are high: loss of family ties, loss of job, loss of straight friends. These are all reminders that the oppression is not just in our heads. It's real. Each of us must make the steps toward openness at our own speed and on our own impulses. Being open is the foundation of freedom: it has to be built solidly.

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a militant mood...

As some of you may know, I recently had an exam. What you wouldn't know is that the exam involved a number of topics including the media's representation of 'others', including homosexuals. In preparation, I read some things by gay authors and so on, including Carl Wittman's "A Gay Manifesto".

Although "A Gay Manifesto" was written in 1970, I found it to be really interesting. Now, I don't agree with everything he says, partially because he was writing about San Francisco 40 years ago. Nevertheless, the reason why I'm writing about him today is because I highly recommend that people read it.

I won't spoil everything Wittman says because you can just read everything in full by clicking that link but I will tell you a couple of things that I agree with:

  1. Homosexuality is the capacity to love someone of the same sex. For some reason, people seem to think that being gay is so much more. You don't have to be gay like musicals just as you don't have to be straight to enjoy a beer. If you like some things and dislike something else,  it's because you're you, not because you're gay. TV Tropes has a fairly extensive list of the various stereotypes about LGBT issues in film, television, etc. if you want to read it.
  2. Coming out isn't easy. It's not, I'm not going to act like it is and so I'm not going to tell anybody in the closet that I think they should come out right now. I do think that people should come out when they're ready and I think that the problem with coming out is not necessarily your sexuality, but rather how other people view your sexuality. When you plan on coming out one day, I highly recommend that you first come out to friends that you can trust and know will be okay with it. They can support you if things go wrong.

Sweaty Ankle Socks

Admittedly, I've been able to post this video for over a week... but since I didn't know how long it would take to upload my other videos, I figured I'd post it about after I had at least one other hidden video online.

I figured you wouldn't appreciate having just one video that I teased you about before having to wait a few weeks for the others. Sorry.

Anyway, now that it is here, I hope you enjoy it! Nobody actually requested this video although an American fan of my sock videos on YouTube was generous to get me a few things from my wish list and just asked some sweaty white ankle socks in return.

I was more happy than happy to oblige. So, I wore two pairs of socks for a few weeks, keeping one pair on my feet and one pair in a zipper storage bag almost all of the time (even in my sleep).

I filmed the video after having worn the socks for a while to show him how rank they were getting from this continuous wear.

If you want to request any custom videos (of me wearing these socks or otherwise), you can leave a comment below, message me on YouTube or e-mail restwalk@hotmail.co.uk.

Year 1.

Hey guys, good news... a few hours ago, I had my exam which means my first year of university is over!

This also means that I can start uploading videos in a couple of days to share them with you!

Stay tuned over the summer holidays for new content and if you want to suggest any ideas for videos, you can leave a comment on this post, send a message to me as restwalker on YouTube or e-mail me at restwalk@hotmail.co.uk.

Priorities

Hey guys, I know I've been quiet but I've been working on a couple of university assignments. I hope you don't mind.

My work isn't done for this year; I have one exam in just over a week's time but I'll be relatively free after that. Over the summer holidays I will be filming a few videos although, for reasons that I'll explain at a later date, I still won't be posting that much content.

In other news, I'm afraid I don't have any more videos to share. I'm going to film some over the weekend and after my exam, but you'll have to wait me to upload them off-campus before I can even think about posting them to the blog.

Basically, you'll have to wait a couple of weeks before I start posting new videos. Between now and then though, I think I'll upload some stills as teasers.

If you have any video suggestions, feel free to leave a comment on this post. Thanks!

Tied in Basement

Turns out, it's quite easy to not see a pair of scissors when you're blindfolded.

I am not a smoker.

Before some of you ask about how I'm not a smoker and yet I'm clearly smoking in that video, calm down; that cigarette was free of tar, tobacco and nicotine.

I've never smoked a real cigarette in my life and I don't intend to. I assume you know the reasons not to smoke so I'll spare you all.

If this video makes you feel like smoking, don't watch it. Thanks.
